Los comienzos de la Banda de Gaitas “La Reina del Truébano”, se remontan a 1996,
año en el que Luis Feito Cano, actual director, comienza esta andadura con alumnos y alumnas procedentes de diferentes escuelas de música tradicional del la zona nor-occidental asturiana.
De aquellos años a la actualidad, La Reina del Truébano (RdT), se ha seguido nutriendo de componentes de diferentes localidades de dicha zona, con integrantes de los concejos de Villayón, Boal, Coaña, Navia y Valdés. Actualmente, la Banda cuenta con más de una treintena de músicos, a los que se suman cerca de medio centenar de integrantes de “El Enxambre”, la banda filial. Actualmente mejor Banda de Gaitas Juvenil de Asturias (Campeonato Xixón 2013). Esta cuenta con una media de edad de 10 años, y en ella se forman los futuros miembros de la RdT; en la actualidad tiene actuaciones en diferentes puntos de la geografía asturiana y alguna “escapada” a otras provincias o países.
A lo largo de su existencia, La Reina del Truébano ha tenido la oportunidad de llevar su música a un gran número de puntos geográficos dispares. Bélgica, Francia, Portugal y Estados Unidos, son algunas de las naciones visitadas. Algunas de las actuaciones más destacadas podrían ser:
* Diferentes actuaciones en Galicia, Sevilla, Cantabria, Castilla y León, Comunidad Valenciana, Zaragoza, Castilla la Mancha, País Vasco y Madrid.
* Actuaciones en Francia: Niza, París, Orleans, Nimes, Calais…
* Festivales de Bandas de Gaitas de Castropol, Candás, Xixón, Piedras Blancas, Llanes, Ribadesella, Luanco, San Claudio, Corvera…
* 4º Puesto en el Campeonato de Bandas de Gaitas Asturianas, año 2002.
* 3º Puesto (ganadores premio de estética) en el Campeonato de Bandas de Gaitas Asturianas, año 2003.
* Festival Intercélticu de Avilés (años 2004,2005 y 2006).
* Festival Intercéltico de Lorient, Bretaña (años 2004 y 2008). En el año 2008, se consigue el 2º puesto en el campeonato de Cuerpos de Percusión, Trophee Guinnes.
* Gira por Bélgica (año 2005).
* 246º Desfile de San Patrick, en Nueva York (año 2008). Premio a la mejor Banda de Gaitas del Desfile.
* Exposición Universal de Zaragoza en representación del Principado de Asturias (año 2008).
* 3º Puesto en la Liga Nacional de Bandas de Gaitas Gallegas ( año 2009).
* Ganadores (1º puesto) en Percusión en el Campeonato Nacional de Bandas de Gaitas Gallegas (Julio 2009, Santiago de Compostela).
* Campeones de St Patrick`s day en Dublin (Marzo 2010).
* 250º Desfile de San Patrick, en Nueva York (año 2012).
* 251º Desfile de San Patrick, en Nueva York (año 2013).
* Festival Internacional de Música de Mazamet en Francia (año 2014).
* Festival de Santa Marta de Ortigueira ( Julio 2013 y 2015).
* Shangai-China Tour (Septiembre 2015).
* Primer premio AMAS modalidad Banda de Gaitas (Marzo 2016).
* Día de Asturias en Dubái (Septiembre 2018).
* Participación en el 50 aniversario de la Graduación de la Policía de Dubái (Enero, 2019).
A parte de todas estas actuaciones, cabe destacar el Festival de Bandas de Gaitas
“Villa de Navia”, que cada año reúne en Navia un buen número de gaiteros, organizado por La Reina del Truébano
En la actualidad La Reina del Truébano, dispone de gaitas asturianas de dos roncones afinadas en sib, percusión moderna, con cajas de alta tensión, timbales tenores, triotón y bombo.
En el campo discográfico, 3 son los discos que ha editado hasta ahora La Reina del
Truébano. El primero de ellos en el año 2000, La Danza del Ocho. El segundo disco, data del año 2003, Xalea Real. Y el tercer trabajo es del año 2006: 10 años… Esmelgando sones. En todos ellos, La Reina trata de plasmar su hacer, y en los mismos se pueden encontrar temas tradicionales asturianos, además de diferentes sones del arco atlántico. Actualmente la Banda se encuentra inmersa en la grabación del que será su cuarto disco.
The beginnings of the Band of Bagpipes "The Queen of Truébano", go back to 1996,year in which Luis Feito Cano, current director, begins this journey with students from different traditional music schools in the north-western area of Asturias (located in the north of Spain).
From those years to the present, “La Reina del Truébano” (RdT), has continued to nurture components from different locations in the area, with members of the councils of Villayón, Boal, Coaña, Navia and Valdés. * Interceltic Festival of Lorient, Brittany (years 2004 and 2008). In the year 2008, it obtains the 2nd position in the championship of Bodies of Percussion, Trophee Guinnes.
* Tour of Belgium (year 2005).
* 246th Parade of Saint Patrick, in New York (year 2008). Award to the best Band of Bagpipes of the Parade.
* Universal Exhibition of Zaragoza in representation of the Principality of Asturias (year 2008).

Apart from all these performances, it is worth mentioning the Bagpipes Band Festival "Villa de Navia", which every year gathers in Navia a good number of pipers, organized by la RDT(www.lareinadeltruebano.com).
Currently La Reina del Truébano, has Asturian bagpipes of two snores tuned in sib, modern percussion, with high voltage boxes, ten-strings, triotom and bass drum.
In the discographic field, three are the albums that have been edited so far by La Reina delTruébano. The first one in 2000, La Danza del Ocho. The second album, dates from 2003, Xalea Real. And the third work is from the year 2006: 10 years ... Esmelgando sones. In all of them, La RDT tries to capture her work, and in them you can find traditional Asturian themes, as well as different sounds of the Atlantic Arc.
At this time the band is immersed in the recording of what will be his fourth album.
